Scope and Content
This collection contains letters, speeches, poetry, and essays by Albert Pike. Civil War items include addresses by General Pike and a request, 1865, for a pardon. Postwar letters discuss Reconstruction politics in Arkansas. The collection also contains letters from other members of the Pike family written during the Civil War, including a letter written from Camden, Arkansas, in 1864 discussing conditions in camp and troop morale.
