The Garland County Historical Society was founded in 1960 by 58 charter members to preserve the history of Garland County. The society collects historical documents, photographs, and memorabilia, and publishes a yearly journal (The Record), and books that illuminate the fascinating history of Hot Springs and Garland County. With over 20,000 photographs, numerous newspapers, manuscripts, maps, books, and other materials, the Garland County Historical Society has an outstanding collection of local history. Its archive is open from 8:00am to noon, every Monday through Friday.
